Bureau Chief TALLAHASSEE The National Life Insurance Company of Florida being organized by ex-Gov Farris Bryant and Comptroller Ray Green and multimillionaire Ed Ball ran into some stiff title opposition Tuesday National Life Insurance Co with headquarters in Vermont came belligerently in from the left and Life Insurance Company of Florida which headquarters in Miami came in from the right protesting that the name National Life Insurance Company of Florida sounds too much like both their names They asked Insurance Commissioner Broward Williams to make National Life Insurance Company of Florida change its name to something else This is already the second name the new company has had It started out under the title but the organizers took a lot of kidding about that Around the capitol it was nicknamed Amos and Andy Life So three weeks ago they changed it to National Life Etc Thomas Dew'olf attorney for Life Insurance Co of Florida said the new company's name is similar to ours But JACKSONVILLE (UPI) Florida is five years ahead of the rest of the nation in battling stream pollution State Health Officer Wilson Sowder told the Association of County Health Officers Tuesday what Million Urged for State Bases Herald Bureau WASHINGTON The Department of Defense rec-ommended Tuesday that more than 46 million dollars be spent on military construction in Florida during fiscal 1966 Almost half of the amount requested for Florida would be spent at Jacksonville's Naval Air Station and the Air Force's MacDill Field at Tampa The Navy requested SS34-000 for operational facilities and troop housing at Key-West Naval Air Station and an additional $1293000 for supply and hospital facilities at the Key West Navy station The authorization bill presented to the Pentagon also includes $1704000 for improvement of facilities and troop housing at Homestead Air Force Base Total amount of the bill for bases in the US and abroad is 19 billion dollars Of that amount 228 million was
